Arielle + Clayton Backyard Micro Wedding on a Rainy Day in Pittsburgh
Before I even say anything about this beautiful backyard micro wedding (or how it took place in Pittsburgh so of course it was a rainy day) I need to go back a few years.
We met Arielle during a time when we were desperate for help getting our house in order, and she came to our rescue.
She has now been helping us for several years, and we’ve always adored her, but over the past year our families have really started to become close.
Our older kids are thick as thieves, our sons are total besties - Clayton and Mark even have a blossoming bromance.
For the whole time we’ve known Arielle, she and Clayton have been engaged but always felt too busy to stop and plan a wedding.
I mean let’s be honest - even small events are a LOT to plan, pay for and execute.
But I - aka your friendly neighborhood wedding fairy godmother - know a LOT about weddings, where/how to save, when to splurge, ways to get the vibe you want, and sooo much more; so from day 1 I said “Let me know when you’re ready and we can help with everything!”
This summer she decided it was time to go - and she meant GO.
As in plan everything in 3 months.
Clayton was skeptical but supportive, and watched in amazement as we quickly began to bring things together.
When the day arrived, the couple vowed never ending love in front of their closest family and friends with the help of officiant + toddler wrangler Mark, photographer + coordinator Kitty, and our three small assistant/helpers who doubled as support + friends to their two kids.
As is customary for many fall wedding days in Pittsburgh, the weather was rainy, colder than expected, and gray AF.
But the vibes were there, drinks (and cookies) were flowing, and these two trusted that I would make magic with what we had.
